What you get

677 rooms on a 72,000 m² plot, opened 2009, built around African-themed architecture with a waterfall atrium that is genuinely startling the first time you walk into it.

Nine pools and a lazy river — this is the one to pick if you are travelling with

anyone who wants to be in water all day

Sister property to Villa del Conde, a few hundred metres away, so the Meloneras promenade

and the Corallium spa network are equally reachable

Around it

Same stretch as its siblings: the boardwalk to Maspalomas lighthouse one way, Pasito Blanco the other, the dunes reserve behind. The walk between the three Lopesans takes minutes, which matters more than it sounds — you can eat at one and sleep at another.

Our take

The widest price range of anything we track in the Canaries: CHF 142≈ €150 · $173 at its floor against CHF 449≈ €475 · $546 at its peak, over thirty-seven checks. When it is cheap it is the best value on the island. When it is expensive there is no reason to choose it over Villa del Conde.
