Xenodocheio Milos
Xenodocheio Milos is a five-star hotel in the centre of Athens, opposite the Old Parliament House, and the first hotel from the restaurant group behind estiatorio Milos. It has 42 individually styled rooms and suites with high ceilings, marble bathrooms, wooden floors and sunny terraces, some of which look onto Lycabettus Hill and the Old Parliament House.
The hotel's restaurant is overseen by Chef Costas Spiliadis, whose Mediterranean cooking is built on excellent ingredients with minimal interference. There is also a spa, a gym and event space. It holds one MICHELIN Key.
On 30 August 2026 we read a Booking.com score of 9.3 from 566 reviews and a Google Maps score of 4.8 from 209. The location puts museums, the fashion district and downtown Athens within walking distance. Photographs: the hotel's own website.
The area
Athens is busy and it knows it. Overtourism is a real strain in the centre, so pick your hours: the Agora and the Temple of Hephaestus first thing, the Acropolis slopes late in the day.
The neighbourhoods are the reason to stay a few nights. Psyrri is graffiti and good tavernas. Plaka and the whitewashed lanes of Anafiotika sit right under the Acropolis. Kolonaki is the smart end of town, with the Benaki Museum and the cable car or a 20-minute climb up Mount Lycabettus for the best view of the city. Koukaki and Pangrati are where Athenians actually live and eat.
In summer, catch a film at the rooftop Cine Paris, running since the 1920s, with the Acropolis lit up behind the screen. The contemporary art museum EMST, in a former brewery, is worth an afternoon.
