Bello!Lake Como Suites
Bello!Lake Como Suites is a small guest house in the historic centre of Como, at Via Fratelli Cairoli 12, directly in front of the lake. According to its Booking.com listing it has three suites and two double rooms in several categories: standard, superior with a lakefront balcony, junior suite, a suite with a lake view and a mansarda suite. Every room has a private bathroom, air conditioning, a minibar, tea and coffee facilities and a TV with Netflix, and several have freestanding baths and murals of lake fish.
Guests share a large terrace overlooking the harbour, with a hot tub, an open-air bath and sun-terrace seating, as well as a lounge and a shared kitchen. The Duomo is about a four-minute walk away, the Como Lago train station about 500 metres, and private boat tours of the lake are offered as an extra.
This is not a hotel with an official star rating, so we judge it on setting and character. Booking.com showed 8.7 from 705 reviews, with location scoring 9.7, when it was read in October 2026 (8.7 from 723 reviews in August 2026). The property has no website of its own with photos, so the photographs here come from its Booking.com listing.
The area
The lake works best from April to October, and it is busiest where the famous names are. Bellagio and Varenna fill up by mid-morning in summer. The western shore is the better base: take the ferry to Brienno and Laglio, or walk the Greenway path through Lenno, and you get the same water and mountains with a fraction of the crowd.
Como itself deserves more than a change of ferry. Caesar founded it as a Roman settlement, the twelfth-century Porta Vittoria tower still stands, and the covered market has run since 1934. The villa gardens along the shore were built as botanical showpieces by the families who made their money in silk, and several are open to visitors.
Eat where the locals go: an old stone house above Tremezzo for mountain cooking, or a crotto on the eastern shore that has served lake fish since 1832.
